Our Need to Depend on a God

Our Need to Depend on a God

One thing has remained a constant in people’s lives for a very long time and that is an Almighty or a God, whatever works for you. Since our childhood, we have been told about it and taught what it is.  We are taught that it is a guy or sometimes a girl who used to be on earth and fought evil and won.  Well not every story is like that but the same thing happens. Now they are living in heaven taking trips to Earth sometimes mostly in Indian mythology.  In addition, they are our Creator, different for people of different religion, and make decisions for our lives based on our actions. We pray to them every day and thank them to please and bribe them in doing something good for us. It keeps tab on us every single moment of our life and on so many people that is truly remarkable. We are told that if we do something wrong it will punish us so we should be careful. We even go to the extent of giving their statues sweets and donating money to places of worship just to please its (bigger than the universe) ego.

Everything we do is in some way related to it. Well most people do not question the reason about why we believe in it and just follow it blindly. The need to believe in it comes from a trait we humans have seemed to acquire since a long time.  The trait is that we cannot never truly accept that we are free and have always needed an assurance that there is someone making decisions for us.  We cannot accept the fact that we are in control of what we do not some imaginary entity. It comes for the fear that we have that if no one is looking after we would certainly make the wrong decisions. This fear is which causes us to believe in imaginary stories of beings that have never existed. This is the thing where we lose our ability to think clearly and follow it blindly just because we acquire this from our elders and it is our duty to follow them (or god will punish us). In all it is our selfishness only that leads us to have faith in it.

This shows us how scared we are to even think that there might not be a god that we imagine because it would make our being here no good and we could not have any idea about what happens when we die.  Those who try to question these have to either are made to keep quite or labeled. This only restricts us to get answer to question that we have not been able to solve and put it all on a entity making us feel secure that we got the answers. Well I hope that someday we stop believing in it and start believing in ourselves and be truly feel FREE.
