Chapter 1. James James was late again. It was the third consecutive day that he had been late for class. His parents had tried to wake him up, but their efforts were futile. Both had to go to work early in the morning, so they did not stay to see him get ready and go. "The master will be really cross with me today" thought James. "He may even not allow me what he had promised last week for scoring highest in the class" was what crossed his mind. But this was the only worry he had on his mind on this lazy morning. Since the start of the high grade semester 1, which was 3 weeks ago, he had stood first in the class on all the 3 weekly tests. He had topped the class in the one practical that had been conducted too. The margin by which he had come first in the practicals was even more than the theory papers. James rose from the bed. The bed creaked and complained noisily as he got up. 25 minutes later, he was ready to go to the training center. He did not understand...
