Ours is the age of electronics-and TC is the most common device of electronics in our household nowadays. Almost 60% of the households in India today has a DTH or cable TV service. In such a scenario, TV commercials are bound to affect all its viewers.
Most commercials are targeted at a specific audience-some are for all. These advertisements try to showcase their products in the most desirable ways possible-and to do this, they resort to ways which may not always be ethically sound.
For instance, mutual fund brokers may advertise that they will ensure 'X' % of their returns-these numbers are always made to look attractive- but there's always terms and conditions which changes the whole meaning of the AD(those little starts). People, often their , fall for this kind of lucrative but highly deceptive offers.

Some commercials are targeted for the adult viewers exclusively-but unbound freedom on TV means there is no way to stop under aged viewers from watching these commercials.
But on the lighter side of things, some commercials showcase social messages. Since these have a wide scope of viewer ship, there are few better ways to impart these social messages .
Thus to conclude, TV commercials are here to stay- and they will continue to deceive; they will also continue to be source of irritation and of entertainment. They will frustrate us, teach us, make us happy. In short. they will continue to affect our lives in both the ways-good and bad.
